It is now February and I haven’t posted since that day I posted about my end of year goals ( not in this page ) and to be very honest with you I am not sure why. But I am here today to do a little recap of what my year was like and about what i want to achieve in this upcoming new year and how my year has been going so far.

It is a big pet peeve of mine when people say “ I can’t wait for this year to be over, next year is going to be so so much better”, like really your life is going to change in literally one second ? No it is not, we are the ones to set the changes we want to see happen in the new year and no matter how cliche New Year Resolutions are,  I believe that their purpose is to encourage us to change slowly but surely.

Having graduated from school has given me the freedom to think and really ponder what my next challenge in life could be and I think I have figured that out. I have two really big goals for this coming year and they are interconnected ; one is to focus on my fitness and the other one is to work on my mental health and the change the perspective I have about myself.

Why fitness ( such cliche ) my reason behind FITNESS it is that I want to challenge myself to something I have never attempted before, by this I mean take the fitness routine seriously to be able to transform my body into a more healthy lifestyle. I want to be able to look at body and love it just the way it is … well with some muscle that is.

Having this challenge is going to really make me be in touch and listen to my body 100% of the time and I really think that this process is going to help me so much in realizing that 1. I am capable of achieving something as big as re-vamping my body, 2. That my body is my temple and I can look good by being strong instead of trying to follow what society thinks it is “good looking ” and 3. I truly believe that by keeping active and releasing stress by working out I will be able to learn to listen to my body instead of listening to outside noise.Just help me focus on my life.

I had a great start to 2018, going to the gym 5 times a week has helped my mental state SO  much and I feel so much happier, healthier and confident. It has been a struggle to get up in the mornings when all you want to do is sleep in but you know you gotta do what you gotta do !! I feel my energy levels going up and more awake during the day. I have struggled less with sadness and being anxious and I do attribute those changes to the gym, but also taking time to myself and doing stuff I enjoy has helped a lot.

One of the things that I have been doing all through the year [ so far ] is planning my week and what i do everyday and work that has to be done, this has helped keep grounded and helped with keeping track of stuff that otherwise I would’ve forgotten or swiped under the rug. Blogging has been one of those things that I just simply pushed away even though it makes me soo happy and it helps me relax and put my thoughts out there. So this is the first blog of 2018, I will not upload everyday or every week the same day, i am only going to do it when I feel like writing so that might be twice, three times a week or once every two weeks.
